Little antique arch top wooden chest with leather covering, probably made around 1910, having a fall front revealing a fitted interior of four jewellery or collector's drawers with tray above. Numerous metal studs and brass escutcheon and handles. Working lock and key. Condition is unfortunately not perfect: the main defect being that the fall front leather has broken at the bottom; it's still held on with its interior leather though, and seems to all stay in place when the top lid is closed, especially when locked. The drawers are a little battered and some bases have been replaced (one with cardboard!) but they work well enough for light duty (don't use it for your uranium collection..). There's a missing stud or two and a few loose ones. Some loose leather here and there. Cosmetically, there are lots of dings, scuffs and marks and the leather is gloriously cracked and aged. In general, this is a super piece with plenty of life in it, but will need treating gently! Priced according to condition. Dimensions: 51cm wide (55cm inc. handles) x 36cm x 38cm high
